Burlington Bungalow - April 8th

Sure is nice to see the house coming along.

Yesterday I popped by to pick out paint colours for 2 washrooms and was delighted to see a few new things.  The bar was complete, countertops installed, hardware installed and the new windows which brighten up the space dramatically.

Burlington Bungalow - sometime last week!

Lots of stuff going on in the house since I was last there!

Look at that Kitchen.

Yup, that's a 10' island.

See the bar...

The doors that I selected.  I love them and want them all over my house!
The molding is amazing to.  Looks like a picture frame!

Burlington Bungalow - March 13th, 2013

Here are a few updated pictures.  Yes, I am well aware of how horrible my pictures are :P
My good camera is such a pain to lug around, so I took some pics with my dinky, digital camera.

The crown molding is so beautiful, I couldn't resist snapping a few shots.

This is one of the extra bathrooms.  The tiles are the floor are gorgeous.  They are this deep olive colour.  Really different.  And the shower has some funky tiles.  This bathroom is going to be young and fun.

Crown moulding in the spare bedrooms.  Paint is BM "Natural Linen"

View of the living room.  Another fireplace I'll be painting

View of the family room.  Walls are one coat of BM "Revere Pewter"

Front entry

The granite 18"x18" tiles that will be going in the front entry.  And a peek at the hardwood.  It's an oak, 4 1/4" plank.

Most amazing powder room EVER.  Onyx tiles.

The mudroom/laundry room.  These are my favourite tiles.  Wish I could get a good close up.  They are textured and have little bits of colour.  Love them.

View of the pantry, basement stairs and wall where the wet bar will be going.

Master Bedroom - The moulding is amazing.  Walls are BM "Gray Wisp"

Burlington Bungalow - Paint Colours

The house has been painted and all the moulding is going up this weekend.  Very exciting!!!

I wanted to go fairly neutral, as this is a re-sale home.  So, here are the Benjamin Moore colours I chose for the interior.

Cloud White - All trim & doors
Revere Pewter - Main living space & kitchen

Gray Wisp - Master Bedroom
Collingwood - Kids Bath

Natural Linen - 3 other bedrooms

Burlington Bungalow - Front Door

First of all - Honey, the snowflakes.... please.  It's March.  I love you.  Snowflakes, not so much.

IBack to Burlington Bungalow... in this house, the front door is really important.  It's going to be the focal point of the exterior and needs to be a real show stopper!

It's a 9' space, with room for a double door, transom window and no sidelites.  Or, a single door, transom window and sidelites.  Light is not an issue since there are 2 massive bay windows at the front and back of the house.  And, privacy isn't an issue, since the font door leads to a huge foyer.  Hummmm, decisions, decisions.

Here are some concepts that I have been playing around with.

Burlington Bungalow - Exterior Final, and a few updated pics

I'm so excited to start seeing some major progress on the Burlington Bungalow.  We've confirmed an exterior design, and pieces are quickly coming together.

First thing to go up is the trim in Gentek Commercial Brown.  It's going to look amazing next to BM Fairview Taupe (one of my all-time fav. colours!)

Here are a few updated pics...

Can't wait to design a front door

A view from standing in front of the garage.  You can see the entry way addition

Left side of the house.  It will be skirted in stone, and the rest siding.  A new window is being added

Back of the house.  The windows are wrapped so you can't see them, but it is quite impressive!

Right side of the house

Inside the drywall is almost complete.  This is the kitchen

Burlington Bungalow - Powder Room Final

Here is the look that the contractor decided on.

When we first started looking for kitchen countertops, I came across this massive piece of onyx and was in 'awe'!  The stone was stunning and I couldn't stop looking and touching it!  As it turns out, the onyx was made in Pakistan where the contractor and his family are from.  He seemed thrilled that I liked it so much!

For this build, I was given a specific store that I had to shop at for tile... and long behold, they carried this stunning golden onyx 12" x 12" tile.  I thought to myself that it would be awesome if I could some how incorporate it into the design.  So, I designed the powder room around this tile.

After the other 'looks' I showed the contractor, I wasn't sure he'd go for it, but he called me yesterday as he was purchasing the tile :)

I'm not sure if we will be buying this exact vanity, or building a custom, similar one, but this is the overall 'look' of the powder room. It's going to be a show stopper!
