Burlington Bungalow - Kitchen

I am thoroughly enjoying myself while designing this new house.  It's surprisingly a lot more work than I expected, even though I expected it to be a lot more work than expected...make sense!!  

Lately, we have been working hard on a solid kitchen plan.  I think after a long meeting with the cabinet maker today, we have nailed a layout.  

You know, picking out the pretty stuff like granite and cabinets is actually the easy part.  It's a very long process before we actual get there.  But, I think we are getting close.  Here are a few looks that I am working on...

Went to the site to see the new shingled roof, but that damn snow!!  

The front entrance is going to be a show stopper when it's all complete!  It's actually going to be a part of the interior...just wait and see!!

New Year, New Project!

Hello All, and Happy New Year!

I know, I know, I haven't blogged in almost a month,  but just when I decided to take a break and relax, a new project came my way.  I have to share it with you all because it is so exciting.

I'm working for a contractor right now, and helping him design a rebuild in my area.  It's a bungalow, that he's gutted and added a huge addition to.  He's hired me to help him design the place for his parents to live in for a while, and then ultimately sell.  This is proving to be a challenge, as we all know it's one thing to design a house for resale, and a total other thing to design a house for living!

I am thoroughly enjoying this project so far, and I'm really excited to share the progress with all of you!

I won't be sharing too much info, since it's not my project, and I have to respect privacy, but I'll be sharing updated photos every now and then as the project progresses.

So here it is. I'm calling this project "Burlington Bungalow".

The Colour of Champagne

Am I the only weirdo that's been married for 8 years and still looks at wedding dresses???  I can't help it!  My wedding dress was dumb - it was a total spontaneous purchase....

And that damn pinterest.... there are so many beautiful dresses to fantasize about!

Anyway, I saw this dress on Pinterest..

 and then this one...

and then this one...

And then I realized it's not the stupid dress I am inlove with, it's the colour.  That chnampange colour.  I just love it.  So, I started digging into the colour a bit more and found some beautiful stuff.  My new obsession - CHAMPAGNE.

My Christmas Wrapping Paper!

After my post about Christmas wrapping paper ideas (here), I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do this year! I received a ton of emails from followers with suggestions (thank you very much, btw!).  Eventually, I decided on traditional kraft paper, with twine and fresh greens.  I love how the gifts turned out and they look beautiful under my tree!  Can't wait to give them out!

Notice my crumpled tree skirt???  Ask this little mischievous one what happened to it!!
